Job Description

Job Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Product & Experience Designer with a passion for cooking, user experience, and design to join the Innovation Factory at Meyer.

You are expected to champion the Meyer brand and will be responsible for designing cookware from initial concepts through to user validation & design lock. This is followed by closely working with engineering & manufacturing departments to achieve a successful on-time product launch.

The ideal person for this role is a self-starter who is collaborative yet able to work independently to craft the perfect brand & user-focused product in an agile manner.

In this role, you will:

  • Assist the team in completing key design-related projects;
  • Create thoughtful and appropriate solutions to design challenges by translating research insights into engaging designs that satisfy user needs, brand strategy, and technical constraints;
  • Produce engaging experiences using sketches, storyboards, 3D renders, and prototypes to collect feedback and iteratively improve and support the design process;
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing arms, product management, engineering, and production teams to ensure a smooth, process-driven product development process;
  • Initiate & manage projects with care by assuring that every design stage has been achieved to deliver work as defined with the team & on time;
  • Manage & guide new product requests by Marketing Arms in accordance to the Meyer design guidelines.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • 3+ years’ previous experience in product design;
  • A proven track record of product designs that has been used by different demographics;
  • Experience with prototyping and taking a product from idea stage through to launch;
  • Ability to take design briefs, user research, analytic data and translate into marketable product design;
  • Strong knowledge of current best practices, including user research and UX;
  • Ability to conduct user research and field research;
  • Proficient in 3D (SolidWorks or Rhino 3D & Keyshot) & 2D (Photoshop, Illustrator), and other design tools;
  • Strong visualizing and rendering skills;
  • Have a portfolio of visually consistent and relevant product design work that you’re proud to share with us;
  • Know how to receive and deliver constructive criticism and work well in an agile team;
  • Fluency in English & Cantonese is required. Other language abilities, especially Thai and Mandarin, are a big plus.
