Role Summary: This role is located in Shanghai, China. The individual in this role will be tasked with researching and coordinating efforts with the Product Management Team in the United States in better understanding and seeking out emerging technologies for the GE Lighting business.
You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company clearly articulate what you are seeing under development and identify technology trends.
Essential Responsibilities: • Closely work with the Product Management Team in understanding the product strategy and goals for each product category.

• With a deep understanding of our product strategy, visit factories in Asia that specialize in those technologies to understand what products and solutions are being produced.
• Compile information and provide frequent reports and updates to the United States based Product Management team on observations, trends and other learned insights.
• Work closely with the sourcing team to bring new potential suppliers to their attention.
• Research new technologies and stay up-to-date on understanding current product development trends that affect the product categories we cover.

Qualifications/Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, industrial distribution or related discipline from an accredited university or college

• Minimum 7 years of Product Management or Technology leadership experience
• Strong abilities to work with cross-functional teams, help create consensus, and drive execution
• Proven ability to pull together diverse individuals with different goals and facilitate productive discussion and action
• Excellent planning, problem solving, and analytical skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate strong multi-tasking abilities
• Experience with developing product strategy
