The jobholder provides expertise in product performance in collaboration with internal and external partners. The role delivers flavour application technology for all formats of wet pet food for Mars Petcare globally covering the needs of pets and pet parents. 

What are we looking for?

• Being an experienced professional, you will possess a Higher University degree (PhD or equivalent) in the field of Flavor Chemistry or Food Science or Food Chemistry, Biochemistry or similar with extensive product development and sensory/palatability experience.
• Have extensive understanding of flavour analytical methods and flavour delivery solutions, as well as flavour chemistry in the food matrix
• Have experience with palatability development program/ product development groups / application teams, being able to translate science into working prototypes is considered a must
• Have experience of managing complex R&D projects and stakeholders. 
• Demonstrate the ability to develop scientific research programs within industry and/or academia.
• Work with team members both internally and externally in a highly proactive and cooperative manner.
• Excellent networking skills and proactivity.

What would be your key responsibilities?

• Accountable for delivering x-functional projects to enhance product performance, e.g.  Product palatability (cat), Product performance (Pet Parent), Flavour application, Flavour and Sensory Analysis
• Responsible to devise and execute technical roadmaps that allow translation of fundamental science into applied solutions at industrial scale
• Responsible for building perspective on functional area development leveraging external insights, new scientific releases and petfood industry trends 
• Act as interface with key external experts in the field (such as Universities, Suppliers, research groups) for global joint development projects
• Have range of internal and external networks and recognition to ensure up to date understanding of cutting-edge developments in field of expertise
