The Teams Identity & Auth team builds sign-in, sign-up and in-app identity experiences and underlying tech for Microsoft Teams. We partner closely inside and outside of our org to deliver identity experiences that are world-class, accessible, consistent and predictable. We deliver foundation platform capabilities and experiences upon which all Teams experiences are enabled. We are passionate about our product and meticulously craft our user experiences. We work very closely with partners in the Identity and Commerce Divisions, as well as other teams in E+D.
We are looking for an accomplished, motivated product leader to define and deliver new identity features for Teams across a wide range of apps and devices. This position will put you in charge of driving the vision, strategy and execution for Authentication Resiliency, Authentication Policies, Conditional Access, and several other key infrastructure features. This role is a mix of program management, project management, product thinking, user-centric design, cross-team collaboration, and external customer engagement. It’s a very high value/high visibility role that’s fairly technical and requires creativity.

Responsibilities
What you will own as a feature PM:
- Authentication resiliency for Teams, including Smart Session Management and coordinating the work across the Teams org
- Authentication Reliability and Quality
- Offline mode support and async authentication
- SSO with Teams’ 3rd party apps and plug-ins
- Evolution of Conditional Access and related policy work for Teams
Key responsibilities:
- Represent Teams in cross-company v-teams working to implement industry-leading Session Management innovations across a variety of Microsoft apps and services
- Manage backlogs, priorities and dependencies across teams to make sure features land on time and with high quality
- Act as “General Contractor” to coordinate work across the Teams organization
- Work closely with designers to come up with world class user experiences
- Work with engineers inside and outside the Teams org to deliver technically sound solutions
- Engage with customers and internal preview users, and triage, prioritize and address customer feedback
- Regularly present new product plans, demos, competitive reviews, and more to the leadership team
- Contribute to the overall product strategy and roadmap, as well as stay in sync with end-user features and service infrastructure
- In this role you will also drive the relationship with the Identity Division working on core authentication features.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5 years of professional experience in program management delivering internet-scale, end-user facing products and services
- Ability to wear many hats and learn quickly, and the collaborative leadership skills to lead a change in direction when needed
- Innate curiosity and ability to thrive in ambiguous and rapidly-changing startup environment. Self-starters and innovators with a positive, collaborative can-do attitude and bias for action are very welcome
- Great problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically
- Strong project management, leadership, dependency management and cross-group collaboration skills with a proven track record of managing complex projects with many partners
- Demonstrated experience across the entire product lifecycle – from competitive research, ideation, user centered design, specification, architecture and the know-how required to lead your crew to realize your vision
- Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills through all levels of the organization, technical and non-technical
- Solid understanding of web and mobile technologies and general ability to ramp up and go deep in new technical areas
- Understanding of Identity protocols, and more generally existing experience in Identity and Access Management is a strong plus
- Bonus points for hands-on experience with the Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) and conducting security assessments on apps and cloud services
- Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent work experience.
