Azure Commerce & Ecosystem (C+E) enables one of Microsoft’s most business-critical needs: electronic monetization of products and services. C+E is developing some of Microsoft’s largest scale, most business-critical cloud services. These services have a huge global footprint of over 240 markets and processes millions of transactions daily, with loads growing linearly as Microsoft moves to a fully cloud-powered services and devices company. The platform powers all of Microsoft’s key businesses – Azure, Office 365, XBOX, and the Windows Store to name just a few. The Core Commerce Platform team is responsible for building and shipping critical services and components to standardize the technology stack for commerce at Microsoft and accelerate the convergence into modern architecture in a compliant, secure, scalable and cost-effective way. We are looking for a Sr Program Manager for our Consumer Purchase team that has experience in and passion for industry leading commerce service technologies. Must have architectural and hands-on skills to spec and design durable platforms, the ability to work with a team of talented engineers, the agility to work on a broad range of features, the ability to traverse fluidly from details to strategy, the commitment to be a great partner to teams across the organization and company, and the desire to transform the way we engineer our products and service. This role will require extensive cross-group collaboration across Commerce and business teams. This is a critical role for our team and we’re looking for a great Sr Program Manager who is excited about an opportunity to make a significant impact on how we enable sales of Microsoft's consumer products.

Responsibilities

• Creating and maintaining vision, prioritization and leading through implementation of the Consumer Purchase Team
• Design, implement, schedule, and deliver value for the core Microsoft businesses.
• Communicating and collaborating with business and engineering teams
• Driving quality throughout the products and services life cycle.
• Exhibiting technical leadership throughout the broader Core Commerce Platform organization.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of program or product management experience
• Experience or strong desire to work with distributed systems and technologies, including high availability, scalability and reliability concepts
• Strong collaboration skills with demonstrated ability to impact/influence engineering and project teams.
• BA or BS degree in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience)

Preferred 

• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write concise and accurate technical documentation and communicate technical ideas
• Program Management experiece on a product team
• Experience with Commerce Systems
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting
• Deep customer & user empathy, and ability to identify customer needs
• Exceptional problem solving, strategic thinking and technical skills
