The payments team sits in the Commerce and Ecosystems (C&E) organization and is the heart of all commerce activity at Microsoft such as Xbox, Office and Azure. We are looking for a seasoned Senior Program Manager who is passionate about online commerce and interested in defining and enabling payment and financial systems that support Microsoft’s various cloud businesses. You will be directly responsible for introducing new payments offerings working closely with payment providers for settlement & reconciliation. Additionally, you will help in designing a platform that continues to scale with Microsoft’s business.
The ideal candidate has a successful track record working on complex products with scale. Outstanding communication skills and cross-discipline collaboration is a must, as is self-awareness. Customer empathy, previous experiences with payments, ecommerce, running multiple complex technical and business programs in parallel.
Responsibilities
As Payments Senior Program Manager, you will be responsible for driving and delivering scalable payment & financial platform solutions that meet evolving customer and business needs. Some of the core responsibilities will include:
• Creating clear vision and scope for the projects, drive alignment and communication across various development teams to ensure overall success to meet the customer goals
• Managing large cross organizational projects or a portfolio of projects/program at scale with experience and proficiency
• Ability to analyze problems using data analysis and formulate possible ways to mitigate issues or improve services to meet business needs
• Leading design thinking and influencing team’s ability to create customer focused functionality
• Partnering with business stakeholder teams to understand business requirements and translate them to engineering deliverables
• Representing the program in senior-level leadership meetings, both internal and external
• Developing and sustaining strong working relationships with business, engineering teams and key partners such as Banks, Payment Processors and Merchants.
• Strong problem-solving skills, communication, and ability to dive into details drive to resolve issues
• Develop relevant payment KPIs, drive analysis and improvements to customer experience, business processes and optimize cost.
• Day to day will include cross team coordination, feature design through execution, with a strong focus on landing platform capabilities.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of Program Management experience including experience working / leading development of ecommerce, payments, or financial systems related projects.
• Experience building and managing services, data analytics, using SQL, excel data analysis, power BI or equivalent analytical tools
• Hands on exposure to data engineering development lifecycle, tooling, and best practices
• Excellent data-wrangling, scripting, rapid prototyping, and data analysis skills
• Experience and proven ability to impact and influence cross functional teams, drive and deliver projects covering payment processing, payment settlement, financial reconciliation and accounting systems
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience in online commerce or payments area is a plus
• Willingness to travel (as needed) to US, Europe as well as emerging markets (e.g. China, Brazil, India, etc.).
• Strong communication and influencing skills with passion for payments & ecommerce
• Proven track record of establishing and maintaining cross-team relationships & collaboration
