We are seeking a Program/Business Manager responsible for overseeing and supervising Azure Global Infrastructure team activities. We seek a curious and collaborative candidate who brings strategic thinking, effective communication, interpersonal skills, operational excellence, and trustworthiness. In this role, you will help lead a disruptive front of change at Microsoft. You will also help with establishing the culture of the fast-growing team by defining its values, expectations and beliefs.
Responsibilities
General Responsibilities:
- Collaboratively develop strategy and execution frameworks for Azure Global Infrastructure
- Operationalize these frameworks with Global Infrastructure teams and partner teams
- Act as a strategic and trusted advisor to the GM and LT
- Work closely with the GM to craft the right organization design, operating model, and execution principles to enable Azure to deliver strong product and business results
- Define the GM’s engagement with partners and customers including managing escalations, qualifying engagement requests, and ensuring successful executive sponsorships
Rhythm of the Business:
- Coordinate with the Azure Global Chief of Staff’s office and other C+AI teams regarding business planning and lead the team through major milestones and Rhythm of the Business (ROB)
- Understand and manage the team’s resourcing and fiscal health including headcount operations, strength of force, budgeting and spend.
- Lead the team preparation for business reviews and help “see around corners” and anticipate problem areas
- Drive impact through stakeholder engagement. Establish review mechanism of insight, metrics and actions contributing to product, business, and team performance
Communications:
- Manage the team specific rhythm and communications -- LT meetings, all-hands, off-sites, etc. This includes engagement on CVP & SLT level.
- Lead the evolution of the team culture - including MS Poll, employee onboarding, including remote employees and other activities with an aim of achieving best-in-class organizational health
- Manage the internal and external content and communications plan - including AR/PR, customer engagements, social presence, travel priorities, and team communications
- Manage and drive stakeholder map
Business Operations:
- Precisely and proactively manage the team budget, team calendar of events - working with the finance team and budget stakeholders to have a deep understanding of program and discretionary spend and drive to quarterly and FY financial targets/accountabilities. Ensure all program asks have clear ROI. Participate as leading member of the Azure business manager community - collaborating on cross organizational projects and initiatives as appropriate.
- 10-25% travel to be expected in this role
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience years in professional software development or Program Management is required.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Advanced Sciences is necessary.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
