Senior Program Manager
MicrosoftRedmondUpdate time: May 26,2020
Job Description

Do you have the passion, determination and perseverance to build ground-breaking solutions and experiences which take advantage of the explosive growth of the Internet of Things? Analysts and journalists recognize Microsoft as an IoT thought leader, with solutions like Azure IoT Central (App Platform/SaaS), Azure Digital Twins (PaaS), Azure IoT Hub (PaaS), and Azure IoT Edge leading the way. A growing set of solution accelerators and a rich device catalog with Azure IoT Certified devices continues to shrink time to results for a large and quickly growing partner community.

As we continue pushing to further simplify life for IoT customers, we need to look at the challenges and problems faced by the developers building IoT devices and connect them to Azure IoT. It is time to take another long look at the SDKs (libraries/frameworks/APIs) we provide, the tools we deliver and/or support, and of course the low-level hardware platforms and operating systems. Microsoft has a long history of providing some of the best developer experiences on the planet and we will be leveraging that passion and experience to really light up Azure IoT as a cloud target platform for device builders.

Responsibilities

This role requires a deep understanding of lower-level development patterns, MCUs, RTOSs, and development tools like VS-Code and others. We are looking for a smart, inquisitive and independent Senior Program Manager who loves to dig in as an individual contributor, and also enjoys tackling big, complex problems. A smart individual who is as comfortable persuading in a 1:1 situation as he or she is presenting to large audiences, partners and executives. Customer empathy and paying close attention to the voice of the partners is imperative for success in this fast-rolling environment. If you have a deep entrepreneurial itch and like to pave your own path through uncharted territory – this is your perfect opportunity. We are looking for a well-rounded PM with proven ability to engage with ease on all 3 elements of the BXT axis (business, experience, technology) to deliver outstanding results.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a technical Product/Program Manager working in an agile development environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years working on developer-targeted experiences & solutions
  • 3+ years of hands-on IoT experience
  • Experience with large ISV and/or IHV partner engagements at a technical level
  • Strong passion for delivering simple and elegant end-user experiences and developer API surfaces.
  • Experience working across multiple groups or teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate with internal and external partners

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
