Senior Program Manager-Strategic Initiatives

Our location in Abbott Park, IL, currently has an opportunity for a Senior Program Manager-Strategic Initiatives.
Main Purpose of Role
- The Senior Program Manager is responsible for leading strategic commercial initiatives for Abbott Nutrition across global market geographies
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead with Excellence: Lead projects and manage relevant workstreams by managing cross-functional core teams to meet program objectives for strategic initiatives in the areas of commercial, marketing, digital, eCommerce, and supply chain. Core responsibilities include:
- Project planning and timeline
- Resource planning (People, tools etc.) and allocation
- Regular executive status updates where applicable
- Project financial metrics such as budget, COGS, and capital where applicable
- Scope Control
- Adhere to Abbott policies (local and global) while solving for a problem or designing something new
- Lead global roll out plan and execution of that plan
- Change Management and Risk Assessment:
- Identify potential roadblocks early and implement counter measures where applicable
- If risks cannot be mitigated within the core team, determine appropriate means to communicate and elevate issues to appropriate individuals within the organization.
- Provide leadership during any scope change and work with respective cross-functional SMEs to deliver on goals for assigned development programs.
- Interface with appropriate internal and external resources (regulatory, customers, etc.) to ensure the program meet regulatory and customer requirements.
- Lead with Agility:
- Be proactive to identify opportunities for improving overall business performance of the assigned programs.
- Manage multiple projects at the same time at different stages of project lifecycle
- Mange global implementation adhering to local and global standards.
- Be proactive in managing stakeholder expectations and communicating to management and team members where applicable
- People management:
- Lead a complex program organization that includes both direct, indirect, contract, and dotted-line reports
- Lead and develop key talents in regional program managers to pipeline strategic initiative leaders for the business
Minimum Education/Professional Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in the area of Information Technology or Business Administration preferred. Candidates with MBA is a plus
- Minimum 12 years of relevant working experience is required. Relevant experience in the areas of commercial operations, marketing, digital, or information technology is preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of end-end program management experience is required
- Experience in managing global teams is a plus
Preferred:
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with project stakeholders (client and internal), end-users, business partners, and technical team members to ensure proper systems and plan alignment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with multiple levels in the organization
- Previous experience working in a matrixed and geographically diverse business environment
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and MS Project
