Job Description

Azure Global is building fast-moving, high-impact teams to engineer core Azure platform capabilities, and expand our compute infrastructure to be used for emerging innovation.  These teams will explore the capability and utility of our platform, specifically focusing on improving the ability of government functions to run effectively.   The Azure Global team is looking for strong national leaders who can drive technical fields into directions that maximize the use of the Azure ecosystem, in partnership with government agencies and key contractors.

Responsibilities

Execute new technical ideas that enhance and exploit the cloud capabilities to drive growth in key industries.   

 

Lead execution teams with engineering, infrastructure, marketing, compliance and the field leadership to translate new concepts that are emerging from the research community into new products offerings through proof of concept demonstrations.    

 

Establish partnerships within Microsoft to help execute concepts as well as validating end capabilities.    

 

Demonstrate that Microsoft is a world leader in the technical areas the projects are focused in, by enabling technical achievements beyond what other companies can perform.   

 

Write proposals when applicable to be able to create funding for advanced research topics.    

Qualifications

Basic/ Required Qualifications:   

  • 3+ years of experience translating research to product 
  • 3+ years of experience in program, project or product management with demonstrated skillset in the context of U.S. government agencies and/or contractors 
  • Domain knowledge in areas including defense, intelligence, spectrum, RF, satellite, infrastructure  

 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of US Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements. 
  • Candidates must have an active TS and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph) or have an active TS/SCI and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph). This role will require candidates to maintain the TS/SCI (with polygraph) clearance.  
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.   

Preferred Qualifications:   

  • 7+ years of experience in program, project or product management and deep industry experience working with one category or vertical   
  • Demonstrated international leadership in a complicated, multidisciplinary technical field 
  • BS or higher degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience   
  • Strong track record of delivering services, creating exciting technical proof of concepts, and/or shipping products
