Job Description

FACULTY OF SCIENCE

Hong Kong Organic Resource Centre

The Centre is the first local independent certification body of organic production in Hong Kong. It provides organic certification service and actively promotes organic movement to the public through mass publicity and educational campaigns. The Centre is seeking four passionate and energetic candidates who are interested in organic and agricultural development in Hong Kong to fill the following positions:

Senior Project Assistant / Project Assistant (PR0034/19-20)

The appointees are expected to assist the Centre Executive/Assistant Centre Executive in the execution of administrative and certification system control matters OR promotional and educational activities.

Certification & Fishery Team (2 vacancies)

Focus: Certification – 1 vacancy

             Fishery – 1 vacancy

Duties include:

- handling certification applications and renewal cases, maintaining certification documentation and filing system; and/or

- promoting organic aquaculture industries, preparing publication materials and organizing activities for the general public.

Promotion & Education Team (2 vacancies)

Duties include:

- promoting organic agriculture and aquaculture industries, educating the general public on related areas; and

- organising market survey, writing press materials, maintaining the website and online communication platform, and handling publication works.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in agriculture/aquaculture, biology, environmental science, journalism, communication or related disciplines, with at least 3 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of certification, food safety and/or organic farming/fisheries will be an advantage. Applicants with lower qualification or less experience will be considered for Project Assistant position.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of one year. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.

Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
