ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - - Primary focus areas for this role include (1) Portfolio and Project Execution; (2) PMO Strategy Sustainability & Continuous Improvement; (3) Mentoring and Coaching to Drive Enhanced PM Capabilities

 

Functional

·        Lead the execution of project management for strategic, complex, cross-functional projects to support the prioritized project portfolio.

·        Take ownership of the complete project life cycle, from initiation to close. Focus not only on the deliverables, but the outcomes by removing roadblocks, recommending changes, developing project forecasts, and challenging stakeholders.

·        Deliver clearly articulated project artifacts; including charters, project plans, organizational change management plans, stakeholder registers, risk and issue logs, budgets, benefit realization calculations and schedules, resource utilization, project delivery metrics, lessons learned, and closure logs.

·        Clearly define project scope, resources required, and costs in collaboration with project sponsors and stakeholders based on well-defined timelines. Appropriately manage and communicate project changes within each of these key areas based on established governance and approval processes.

·        Develop comprehensive project management plans for the complete project lifecycle, including considerations for adoption and sustainable change from the project through to anchoring within the business-as-usual teams.

·        Manage both internal and external project resources, with indirect reporting relationships.

·        Establish clear project communication and reporting on a regular cadence across multiple layers of management, project stakeholders, and resources to drive clear alignment on project status.

·        Drive strong risk and issue management, including proactive identification and mitigation.

·        Drive maximum value benefit delivery by ensuring project benefits are fully defined, tracked and continued realization anchored post-project within business-as-usual teams.

·        Clearly define project closure success criteria and deliverables.

·        Direct project resources to accomplish project tasks and maintain control over projects.

·        Assist in delivering appropriate quality assurance, training, and documentation to support the successful transition of solutions to business-as-usual teams.

·        Manage multiple projects concurrently.

·        Support Functional Teams and other Project Managers in the successful delivery of the portfolio of projects through the appropriate use of project management methodologies and PMO framework.

·        Collaborate with the functional teams to develop a pipeline of project opportunities through the identification of problem statements, business needs, and alignment to strategic objectives.

·        Maintain positive team relationships and communications with a diverse global project team across multiple locations and time zones.

·        Mentor and coach project management resources and others within the organization in order to increase their understanding of the methodology, tools, and capabilities.

·        Recommend and deliver project management-related training for the project resources in order to ensure effective application of project management principles.

·        Collaborate with cross-functional PMOs to deliver alignment of project management capabilities and concepts.

 ·        Work with the Global PMO Manager to establish a robust alignment of the portfolio of projects to the overall company strategy.

·        Prioritize and engage in continuous improvement of the PMO, integrating best practices and the latest PM trends to the Albemarle model in collaboration with the Global PMO Manager.

Candidates must have the following experience or working knowledge:

·        Systems Knowledge: Proficient user of Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint; SAP knowledge; SharePoint knowledge; Project Management tools.

 

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

·        College Degree (Business, Information Systems & Decision Sciences, Management)

·        PMP or similar Project Management Certification

·        5-10 years managing projects in a lead execution role

·        Prior experience managing global, cross-functional teams

·        Prior experience managing multiple, concurrent projects

·        Preferred PMO experience

Preferred business process transition or acquisition projects experience
