In support of this transformation, the global business applications team is partnering with the business to implement new systems; processes and structure to support future growth.

 

This brings about an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who is keen to learn and deliver value add solutions. We are looking for dedicated, self-motivated, highly skilled Senior Project Manager to join the Business Applications Team within SDL.

A key position within the Business Applications team to manage project plans, budget and resources, delivering projects across a number of functional areas within SDL. This is to support the top strategic objectives of SDL and ensure execution is on plan. The candidate will develop and maintain a deep level of business and product knowledge that allows them to support and challenge initiatives. The team’s focus is to work in partnership with the business (include the Business executives) to update the current systems and processes to providing corporate solutions that are fit for purpose. In additional, you will be asked to ensure the end-to-end impacts and consequences of projects are fully understood and managed with full transparency, clear communication and synchronisation.

  • Risk & Issue Management

 

  • Change Control
  • Quality & Budgetary Management
  • Assist the Business Applications management team to balance tasks across resources, including the business and third parties to optimize efficiency

  • Manage, monitor and motivate the cross functional teams assigned to the project.

  • Budget management

  • Critical path and contingency planning & management

  • Maintenance of Project Portfolio and interdependencies

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously in accordance with internal project management methodology/practices (often in a virtual environment)

  • Adding to the continuous improvement of internal project management practices.

Essential skills and experience

  • Excellent communicator at all levels both verbally and written

  • Proven ability of building trusted relationships with managers, developers, business sponsors and users at different levels within organisations and third parties

  • A minimum of 7+ years’ in Project Manager roles

  • A record of delivering projects to time, costs & quality

  • Demonstrable project and programme management expertise with experience of having delivered a number of large and complex technology projects from conception to closure;

  • Proven experience in gathering and documenting Business Requirements

  • Excellent client facing skills

  • Negotiation and consensus building skills – with developers, customers, etc.

  • Proven ability to understand business processes and experience of process reengineering projects would be an advantage

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential

  • Virtual management

  • Understanding of entire software delivery lifecycle and stakeholder relationship management.

  • Thorough knowledge & experience of MS Project, an understanding of project management methodologies including Waterfall and Agile

  • An understanding of leading CRM, BI, ERP and IBPMS solutions.

  • An understanding of Ecommerce solutions and subscription billing modules

  • Ability to extract information required from stakeholders
