Eaton’s Electrical Services & Systems is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager – Modular Solutions to join our team. This position will be based at our Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Grapevine, TX; or Baton Rouge, LA facility. Position Overview: Eaton's Electrical Services & Systems team offers a comprehensive portfolio of services tailored for every stage of a power system’s life cycle—whether it’s design, build, or support. Our services integrate and optimize the elements of a power system to make sure it’s aligned with business goals. We can help keep your power system safe, efficient, reliable, and up-to-date. The Project Manager is responsible for the use of modern project management tools and techniques to execute projects related to the engineering, procurement, and construction of electrical power system modifications. Modernization projects will relate to the electrical power generation, transmission, and distribution industry with specific focus on Eaton’s Modular integrated transportable substation (MITS) portfolio that is an ultra-flexible modular substation solution designed on a self-supporting transformer skid or trailer. These type of project entail significant Eaton equipment familiarity and service platforms around MITS. The Project Manager will use his/her knowledge of industrial and utility power distribution equipment, power system engineering, substation design, & construction safety to deliver projects with a high degree of professionalism and safety. The Project Manager will have full responsibility of project and authority to complete his/her assigned project from inception to scope development, planning, execution, management of people and resources. He or she will have the discipline to create clear and achievable cost, quality, and schedule objectives and follow these objectives through to successful completion. The Project Manager will also provide technical leadership to the district sales & service teams. Individual must be capable of self-managing and directing a team on awarded projects for electrical equipment, including working knowledge of electrical substation design & installation. Equipment includes transformers, oil circuit breakers, power circuit breakers, power supplies, integrated housings, protective relaying, power cable, substation equipment, motor control centers, medium voltage control, excitation equipment, automatic transfer switches, rotating equipment and AC drives. In this function you will: Manage & maintain the commercial contract between Eaton and its customers Estimate, prepare, submit, and manage change orders between customer and Eaton Manage and communicate the scope of work & responsibilities between Eaton’s customers, Eaton’s employees, & Eaton’s suppliers / sub-contractors Establish and manage the contract(s) between Eaton and its vendors & subcontractor Plan, establish, maintain, and regularly update a project schedule on assigned projects Manage communication, and distribute documentation between Eaton and its customers Monitor, report, and control costs on assigned projects within estimated project margin Report, forecast, and present project financial activity to Eaton’s management Prepare, distribute, and follow through with project safety plan Be responsible for financial performance of project including: profitability, project revenue, and cash flow When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with minimum 5 years of project management or engineering experience OR Associates degree from an accredited institution with minimum 10 years of Project Management experience OR minimum 15 years of project management experience with high school diploma. Must be able to work in the United States without company sponsorship. Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the work location(s) listed. No relocation is being offered for this role. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Preferred qualifications: Experience in Power Plant Electrical Projects First and CPR Trained PMP Certified Preferred Experience with Microsoft Project or Primavera Scheduling software Position Criteria: Successfully complete and maintain compliance with Eaton's safety program & policy. Must possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted drivers license. Periodically submit to drug and background screens as requested by customers for on-site work. Candidate must have a strong focus on customer satisfaction and a track record of successful project execution experience to deliver technical solutions to customers. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must, with ability to be flexible to adjust to changing project conditions. Strong computer skills are required.
