Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. Amgen is searching for a Sr. Project Manager in a global-role based position, reporting to the Executive Director, Innovation & Process Improvement. In this vital role you will help drive continuous improvement and innovation projects that deliver measurable benefits and optimized business processes critical to Amgen’s future, and will support Amgen's clinical trials business process management framework.

Key responsibility include:

  • Business Process Ownership for important Development Operations process areas, including site management and other trial execution-related domains
  • Leadership role for embedding and sustaining of the Clinical Trials Global Networks within R&D.
  • Ensuring quality and inspection readiness for in-scope process areas
  • Contributing to the evaluation and implementation of new solutions and approaches to address changing regulatory policy guidance and further enhance site management capabilities
  • Project management for the implementation of innovative business process improvement projects that deliver measurable gains in cycle time, quality, and cost
  • Delivery of corporate and functional projects and initiatives
  • Manage process change initiatives evaluating and lead the impact of process changes to functions, systems and other related processes both upstream and downstream
  • Work with Process Owners to develop oversight criteria and action plans

Basic Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree & 2 years of project management experience OR
  • Master’s degree & 6 years project management experience OR
  • Bachelor’s degree & 8 years of directly related experiences OR
  • Associate’s degree & 10 years of directly related experiences Or
  • High school diploma / GED & 12 years project management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA/BS/BSc in the sciences or RN
  • Project Management Professional (PMP / PMI) certification
  • 9+ years work experience in life science or medically related field
  • 6+ years experience working in clinical site management (working on clinical trials at a biotech, pharmaceutical or CRO company)
  • Strong knowledge of the Functional Service Provider Operational Model
  • Experience with process-centric business process management
  • Attention to quality planning and execution
  • Experience in a project management role, including use of project planning tools
  • Experience in internal communications and change management
  • Proficient project management skills
  • Effective leadership skills
  • Strong change management skills and experience
  • Ability to lead team(s) to accomplish increasingly complex, specific projects
  • Ability to influence and empower others outside of direct line of authority
  • Strong ability to interface effectively with all levels
  • Quick learner; proactive; takes initiative, skilled in understanding highly ambiguous situations
  • Results oriented, goal driven, has strong oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to prioritize, interpret, communicate and present information efficiently, proficient facilitation, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
