My client is an European well-known medical device company, with presents in China.

This is a senior position. The key accountability is that s/he will work across teams in China Office to ensure the relevant resources and expertise is applied within a project plan to ensure new products are delivered to marketing to time and quality. The job holder will be a senior member of the China Management Team and will have the mandate to influence team input from Operations, New Product Development and other teams as necessary. Written and spoken English is essential as the role holder will be communicating with HQ Office project managers and functional directors regularly to ensure projects develop to plan.

• Building concrete project plans which align to budgets and other expectations set by NPD Director and other GAMA Leadership Team members.
• Manage and develop the NPD team and Engineering teams, and apply management practices that develop high performance.
• Ensuring each key project is supported by detailed cross functional plans, in consultation with team leaders in NPD, Engineering, Operations and Quality.
• Negotiate and establish the necessary resources from China teams which can ensure projects are delivered to time and quality.
• Manage and monitor the full portfolio of development projects and ensure projects and resources are prioritised in line with the expectations of key stakeholders.
• Support and challenge China teams, and adjust plans as necessary, to realign project expectations to changing circumstances.
• Ensure projects are managed to high standards and include:

• Risk and mitigation planning
• Change control,
• Resource management
• Vendor management
• Prepare reports for key stakeholders
• Resolve projects risks and issues

• Proven experience as a Project/Program Manager in a complex program environment
• Effective influencing skills, be able to gain commitment from (typically English speaking) key stakeholders to align to program management portfolio.
• Successfully delivered program leadership in a global organisation, exercising
• direction and leadership to remote teams
• Acquired specific experience on developing or manufacturing small appliances.
• Managed small teams, and can successfully build effective teamwork
• Demonstrated a strong understanding and application of program management
• techniques and methods.
• Acquired a strong understanding and application of change management approaches.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office;
• Excellent problem-solving ability
• Ideally developed products under the ISO13485 medical devices regulatory framework
• Working knowledge of project management software (Basecamp, MS Project etc.) is desirable
