Job Description

As Senior Project Manager in the OCIO, his/her goal will be to drive major change initiatives across functions within CityU.
 
Duties :  

  1. Work closely with the CIO in the formulation of a strategic plan and definition of measurable achievements;
  2. Collaborate closely with the senior management in the Enterprise Solutions Office and Computing Services Centre to establish cross-functional projects and teams to carry out these projects;
  3. Act as regular business partner to university departments, understanding their business goals and translating these into IT needs;
  4. Communicate IT achievements internally and externally;
  5. Establish a project management office for CityU’s Central IT; and
  6. Manage projects and functional activities within the Office of the CIO.


Requirements:  

  1. A higher degree in IT or a related field, with at least 12 years of relevant work experience in an area related to business analysis, project management, or IT management;
  2. An end-to-end mindset, problem solving skills, and success orientation;
  3. High levels of self-motivation and flexibility, focused on making CityU and its stakeholders more successful through his/her efforts;
  4. Demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio of tasks independently and handle upward communication proactively;
  5. Strong collaboration skills to build and strengthen cross-functional activities across CityU’s Central IT;
  6. Confidence to communicate across all levels of the University, with solid presentation and storytelling skills;
  7. Skills in project costing, budgeting, and vendor negotiation;
  8. Project planning, organizational management, and budgeting expertise; and
  9. Excellent communication skills in English and Putonghua.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service
Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
