Job Description

Headquarters (Industry Partnership)

Major Duties:
(a) To provide secretariat support to Training Boards / Working Parties / project-related committees and working groups;
(b) To undertake relevant activities including manpower surveys and updates, trade tests, Recognition of Prior Learning, etc. of the related industries;
(c) To assist in the planning, development and implementation of new projects relating to Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET) to meet the needs of the industries;
(d) To establish and maintain sound industry networks and work closely with internal and external stakeholders for the promotion and implementation of activities of Training Boards / Working Parties as well as new projects and initiatives;
(e) To plan and organise conference, seminars, visits and activities to engage industries and promote collaboration; and
(f) To lead a team of officers and supporting staff to provide quality services.

Requirements:
(a) A recognised degree in Engineering or related discipline or a relevant professional qualification, preferably with a post-graduate qualification;
(b) At least 5 years’ relevant experience at an appropriate level of responsibility;
(c) Solid experience in the electrical and mechanical services or automobile industries, and with good understanding of its latest development;
(d) Preferably with relevant work experience in committees’ work and large-scale training projects;
(e) Relevant work experience in market research or planning as well as coordinating marketing and publicity activities in the areas of industry and school networking will be an added advantage;
(f) Good understanding of the future development of VPET and the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework;
(g) Proven ability in the management of projects from inception to successful implementation and strong problem-solving and analytical capability;
(h) Strong leadership, organising and management abilities and willing to meet challenges and able to work under pressure;
(i) Proactive attitude, strong initiative and the ability to work independently; and
(j) Good presentation skills and a high level of proficiency in both English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua.

Notes:
(1) The post is in the rank of Senior Lecturer.
(2) Shortlisted applicants will be required to sit for a written test.
