Job Description
The Senior Automation Test Engineer will be required to:
· Perform automation tool evaluation and provide recommendations to the Head of QA
· Plan, design and create automated tests for releases
· Manage the automated testing of each release to ensure acceptable quality
· Work with the wider QA teams to update and extend the automated test processes
· Work with the developers to resolve issues
· Encourage the use of appropriate industry standard best practice and process
Key Responsibilities
· Designing and developing automation test assets so that applications meet business requirements, system goals and fulfill end-user requirements
· Identifying system issues and working closely with developers to get them resolved
· Defining an effective automation framework to ensure maximum reusability, maintainability and flexibility.
· Executing automated tests in accordance with the test plan
· Seeking out and identifying opportunities for test automation
· Coordinating automated testing efforts with our off shore team in Bangalore
· Mentoring and coaching members of staff to improve overall testing and technical skills
· Reporting on progress and any blocking issues slowing or preventing progress in a timely and competent fashion
· To ensure adherence of automation and coding standards for self and others
Technical skills
Essential
· In-depth experience of automated test tools suitable for the use of testing complex web based products
· 3+ Years Advanced scripting experience
· 5+ Years of testing in a testing related role
· Ability to create test strategy and test plans
· Strong design and execution of script based testing techniques
· Ability to interrogate Microsoft SQL databases
Desirable
· Ability to read source code (Microsoft development languages C#, JavaScript, SQL)
· Experience of consuming JSON-based web services
· Working in an Agile Scrum environment
· Coaching experience
· Working with multi location teams
· Knowledge and experience of automated API testing
· Knowledge and experience of non-functional testing
· Experience of Virtual Machines / Cloud technologies
· The ability to install and setup the software in a virtual environment
· Experience of managing test environments and building test data
· Experience of evaluating and selecting appropriate automation test tools
· Advanced understanding of QA process and methodology
· Experience with TFS

· Exceptional attention to detail
· Highly self-motivated and directed

· Working knowledge of the Marketing industry.
