ABOUT YOUR ROLE:
You are responsible for new product development, new technology development, and the localization of raw materials for the Industrial Tape business.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
l Lead and coordinate product development efforts and insure that newly developed or localized products meet the design objectives and appropriate standards in the agreed timing.
l Develop new adhesives and adhesive formulations when needed to meet project requirements
l Work with procurement and material suppliers to source and qualify new raw materials for new product development
l Focus on creating and implementing manufacturable and cost effective Pressure Sensitive Tape designs and then provide Engineering support to the transition process to production. Follow-up until the products are turned-over to Production.
l Work closely with the Sales and Product Management to get full understanding of market, customer, product application or product requirements.
l Establish and document full product and performance requirement specifications which will be used during the component and construction development AND will function as the benchmark for final project evaluation.
l Consult with European and US colleagues to screen whether there are existing products or components which meet the requirements. When needed transition EU and US product to local manufacturing.
l Follow the company EHS regulations, process and SOP instructions. Complete EHS training and pass the
evaluation before on-boarding.
l Maintain Lab safety during product development.
WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:
l Experience with adhesives and resins used for tapes in Automotive & Electronics Industries.
l Experience with formulating adhesives to meet requirements of application
l Experience with lab equipment and testing for PSA tapes
l 4+ years experience with new product development
l English skills in writing and speaking
EDUCATION:
l Bachelors or above in chemistry or polymer science or equivalent
