Job Description

For our New Process and Product Development group in Research & Technology we are looking for a:

Senior R&T Chemist/Engineer

The profile: In this role, you will be responsible for leading projects involving the development of new products and processes, starting from laboratory scale and ending up in a commercial application. The main focus is the development of advanced hydrotreating catalysts for fuel production but it can be extended to other functional materials.  For this role, it is crucial not only to understand the materials and surface science but also, to propose solutions that enable the transformation of new ideas and formulations into products that can be realized at industrial scale.

Key focus and responsibilities:

• Generate fundamental knowledge and understanding of working principles of new catalyst formulations

• Translate the requirements of the market for new products into R&D plans

• Develop and optimize new catalyst formulations/product concepts

• Evaluation and interpretation of test results and analytical data

• Communication of approach and results to different stakeholders

Requirements:

• PhD or Master in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with minimum 3 years of working experience

• Experience or major in catalysis is preferred

• Excellent communication skills in English (Proficiency in Dutch is preferred)

• Knowledge and experience in project management

• Solution-oriented, proactive, creative

• Resilient, flexible, pragmatic

• Good interpersonal skills and eager to work in multidisciplinary teams
