Senior Research Assistant (holding the functional title of Assistant Project Development Officer) in the Centre for Information Technology in Education within the Faculty of Education (2 posts) (Ref.: 494375) (to commence as soon as possible until August 31, 2021 on a fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary)

Applicants should possess (i) a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Education or other relevant fields; (ii) a recognized teaching qualification, (iii) with relevant teaching experience; and (iv) good communication skills in written Chinese and English. Priority would be given to those who have a Master’s degree or above in science education, and experience in organizing STEM activities in schools. Experience in quantitative research and/or academic writing and fluency in Cantonese would be a definite advantage.

The appointees will assist the Project Manager and Project Development Officers in the following activities:

• To coordinate and liaise with different parties of the project on the planning, development and implementation of various project activities;
• To work collaboratively with project team members to support teachers in project schools in the design, implementation and evaluation of STEM curriculum using self-directed learning (SDL) approach in upper primary and lower secondary grades respectively;
• To work collaboratively with participating teachers in designing curriculum using SDL strategies in STEM;
• To organize activities that foster multi-level leadership capacity development in schools;
• To write reports and conduct data analysis; and
• To perform various administrative and related duties as assigned.
