Key Responsibilities/职位描述

 1. Scope, design, execute and deliver projectswithin the mycotoxin risk management research program.

  • Responsible for scoping and literature review for new projects.
  • Ensure appropriate experimental design of studies enabling appropriate statistical analysis.
  • Ensure projects are clearly set up as required by Mars Science operating System requirements ensuring business stakeholders are consulted, informed and aligned as appropriate; accurately track and appropriately report reseach progress. 
  • Deliver the research plan through work conducted within Mars owned facilities and in collaboration with academic institutes.
  • Approx. two projects at any one time.

2. Ensure compliance with the research governance process by writing proper documentation.

  • Write charters and project initiation forms (PIFs) and providing metrics to measure and report on the progress of research projects.
  • Maintain accurate records for experiments using appropriate methods.
  • Communicate regularly with GFSC Quality Management Process (QMP) & Research Program Management Scientist to track the progress of research and provide updates.
  • Work with GFSC QMP & Research Program Management Scientist to ensure compliance with QMP.
  • Report research progress as required in biannual food safety research reviews, QiA report, knowledge capture report etc. Present research work internally at relevant meetings, workshops, biannual food safety science review webinar etc.

3. Maintain essential competancies pertaining to mycotoxin risk management.

  • Train and develop research scientists and laboratory scientists in advanced instrumental analysis (e.g. chromatography and mass spectrometry) and biological assays (e.g. ELISA). Deliver food safety related training for internal and external participants.
  • Design competency tests for laboratory scientists and technologiest to ensure required quality of work delivered eg. ELISA and HPLC.
  • Arrange and participate in proficiency testing/rink trials provided by suppliers eg.  Romer labs etc. to ensure satisfactory standing.
  • Take good care of various reference standards for mycotoxins.
  • Proactively investigate and recommend new technologies to support innovation projects at GFSC.
  • Design work plans for contract researchers and summer interns.
  • Attend key international conferences, instrument exhibitions to learn state-of-the-art instruments in mycotoxin research.
  • Prepare and present research at key conferences and write scientific publications as required by the external communication plan.
  • Capable of hands-on work in the GFSC food safety research laboratory.
  • Establish a network of leading experts in academia and industry in this field

4. Act as an ambassador for GFSC

  • Drive Corporate Reputation as an ambassador for the company. Establish and maintain a broad professional network.
  • Sharing knowledge by attending and presenting at appropriate global conferences, symposia and writing of scientific publications, patents etc.
  • Support GFSC training courses.

 

Qualifications/任职条件

1. Education & Professional Qualification

A PhD or extensive equivalent work experience in a relevant research environment in Chemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Plant pathology, Agriculture, Food Science or similar discipline is required.

Proven record of scientific publications and technical presentations.

Excellent oral & written English skills.

Proven ability to translate science insights and business needs into relevant research projects with clear business goals and delivery milestones.

2. Knowledge/Experience

A minimum of 3 years’ experience managing multi-dimensional Research Projects.

Must have more than 8 years’ experience of working within an industrial or research laboratory.

In-depth knowledge of analytical chemistry  or microbiology.

Experience of working with food materials is essensial.

Knowledge of good agriculture practice (GAP) an advantage.

Proven ability to build effective networks and collaborate effectively.
