The opportunity:
We have an opportunity for a Senior Risk Manager to drive a strong risk culture across our Partnership Insurance (PI) division. You’ll assist in the implementation and maintenance of robust risk management frameworks and will be driving and continuously improving the Adviser Conduct Investigation process. As a Senior Risk Manager, you’ll also be maintaining quality assurance standards over PI and developing adviser insights with meaningful decision making.
About the role:
Assist and manage the development, implementation and monitoring of the risk and control framework, key risk metrics, risk policies and governance activities.
Provide assurance over the robustness and integrity of key controls.
Build relationships across the organisation, working proactively in partnership to ensure successful business outcomes.
Assist the business to develop fraud prevention strategies.
Assist in the development and maintenance of the divisional control assurance program to ensure Regulatory, Legal, and internal policy obligations and requirements are complied with.
Influence risk outcomes across the Partnership Insurance division area by providing a risk view and related recommendations on new products, projects, and incidents.
Develop, coach, and provide regular feedback to drive a high performing team of engaged and focused professionals.
Champion process improvement within the team and implement initiatives to create capacity.
Manage the performance of direct reports. Provide support and direction to achieve objectives. Hold them accountable for their performance.
Assist the Head of PI Risk in Supervision related activity.
Undertake reviews and/or deep dives where required and provide insightful analysis and recommendations to mitigate any risk exposures.
About you:
5+ years of risk management experience, ideally in the financial services industry.
Have well-developed risk management skills and up to date knowledge of industry best practice and risk issues.
Strong knowledge and understanding of Distribution operations, processes, and business risks.
Ability to deal with the complexity of data, systems, products and regulatory requirements for the insurance and investment industry.
Ability to use initiative, analytical skills, commercial acumen, and good judgment in problem solving and decision making.
Ability to constructively challenge as and when required.
Ability to consider the wider implications of decisions on the business.
Ability to recognise opportunities for change, think outside the box and identify ideas and solutions for continuous improvement.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders.
Experience with working with senior leaders.
Experience with people management and coaching.
