This is a Senior R&D Designer- User Experience role reporting to the R&D Team Manager- Motion in the Business Area – Motion, Drive Products located in Beijing, China.

Your responsibilities

• Working on UX/UI design in ABB Motion R&D projects.
• Creating the design brief together with product owners, integrating user feedback and business requirements.
• Supporting product managers in customer understanding, arranging & facilitating definition workshops and design sprints.
• Collaborating with developers and playing active role in design iterations (Advocating for changes, refinements, and ongoing improvements).
• Coordinating design across multiple projects.
• Creating, iterating, and maintaining documentation including storyboards, flows, architecture, mockups, prototypes, animations, etc.
• Spreading Human Centered Design mindset in the organization (advocate design process, train colleagues). Developing design process, tools and templates.

Your background

• Must have a bachelors’ degree. Good to have masters degree in UX/UI design, Human-Computer interaction design, Industrial Design or other relevant design area from renowned design university Excellent UX/UI- design skills & a work portfolio to back this up.
• 4+ years of experience in UX/UI design, documented work experience and examples from shippable products (for example these platforms: Web, Windows, Mobile - iOS & Android).
• Ability to distill complex processes into simple, clear, user interactions, to translate abstract ideas and requirements into tangible, production-ready design deliverables. A self-guiding person who takes initiative, has teamwork capability, ability to work in multinational global team.
• Fluent English communication skills, verbal and written.
• Proficiency in conducting user interviews and facilitating workshops, proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Office, Adobe CC, Figma, Sketch and InVision. Excellent visual standards and obsessive attention to detail, documentation skills and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, few weeks per year.
• Study or work experience outside China considered as an advantage, also ability to communicate also on the technical level (CSS, HTML, Visual Studio) with development teams, good understanding of software design and architecture.
• Preferred to have experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, DevOps) and experience of working closely with engineers and product managers on technical projects.
