We are looking for a talented person for the role of Lead SW Test Engineer (Embedded).
Our team is building next generation edge devices focusing on ambient audio, speech interaction, AI and intelligent cloud to complement Surface product experience. Responsibilities
- Own and drive all areas of FW and SW testing to ensure test coverage across a wide range of technologies and functional areas. This includes unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and regression testing.
- Define FW/SW test cases based on use cases, participate in definition of quality targets. Plan test execution, schedules, resources, and budget.
- Drive internal and external test teams, analyze results and provide reports to upper management.
- Lead troubleshooting activities across cross-functional teams to determine root-cause for HW/SW issues and validate solutions.
- Drive FW/SW bug triage to resolve open issues according to weekly cadence, track bugs and test status in DevOps or similar test/bug tracking tools.
- Drive efforts to improve test coverage through automation
Qualifications
- MSc/BSC in Computer Science, SW Engineering or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in FW/SW development and/or testing.
- Proven experience leading a test team to validate all issues have been identified, characterized, and closed before product launch.
- Previous experience in a hardware development team, preferably in the consumer electronics industry.
- Knowledge of software development and test methodologies.
- Familiarity with standard communication protocols (UART, I2C, SPI. I2S) and interfaces such as USB and Bluetooth.
- Previous experience in all stages of hardware development: design, implementation, test, production and sustaining.
- Knowledge of standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multi-meters) is a plus.
- Excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
- International travel may be required.
