Position Summary

Our Genetic Sciences Division (GSD) based in South San Francisco is at the forefront of innovation for genetic analysis research and clinical applications. The Genetic Testing Solutions Organization within GSD is a cross-platform organization designed to accelerate growth in the clinical space. The Asymptomatic Testing Solutions team within GTS is focused on developing product, technology, and service solutions that can enable the world to successfully manage pandemics, such as COVID-19, minimizing both negative health and economic outcomes. The team is dedicated to working across all Thermo Fisher Scientific genetic analysis platforms and diagnostic products, as well as identifying external partnerships (e.g., M&A, OEM, etc.), to develop products/solutions for key market verticals/ stakeholders across the globe. The product portfolio and pipeline include both RUO and IVD products, and will include self-manufactured, OEM, and 3rd party products, technologies, and services.

The Sr. Sales Operations Analyst will be a senior member of a team responsible for providing sales operations support to the ATS organization, which will include global scope. These activities include reporting, analytics, program tracking, performance dashboards, assisting with quota and territory planning, account level business reviews, and other sales ops related functions, as needed. While this individual will primarily work to support ATS, they may be asked to support others functions as needed based on business requirements and workload. This person will work cross-functionally with: Marketing, Finance, Sales Operations/Pricing, Compensation, IT/CRM and multiple Business Units. The ideal candidate will engage directly with Sales to drive strategic account planning and provide recommendations for decision making. This person must be able to present to business leaders within Thermo Fisher Scientific. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide standard revenue and performance reporting/analysis, business reviews, build reports/sales tools, maintain systems infrastructure, and ad hoc analytics.
  • Collaborate with sales management and business management to identify and drive ATS selling opportunities at specific accounts/territories globally
  • Partner across LSG divisions to gain complete customer analytics and business plans.
  • Strong Commercial orientation with a passion to understand, develop, improve, and streamline sales tools and reports to better guide sales teams in setting selling strategies.
  • Prepare executive-level quarterly and monthly business reviews and present to internal and external customers.
  • Perform ad-hoc data analysis for business units around customer, products and vendor dynamics.
  • Support the Compensation team and Sales Ops Leader with territory management, quota setting, and commission plans.
  • Identify, validate, and execute opportunities for sales performance improvements.
  • Drive training and use of selling tools available to the field teams to better manage/grow their business.
  • Assist with maintaining Cognos/EDW and Power BI revenue reporting and provide guidance and training to sales team as needed.
  • Assist with driving behavioral changes with the sales force to maximize selling results and overall productivity.
  • Drive internal improvements and efficiencies within the Sales Operations team.

SKILLS /REQUIREMENTS:

  • Advanced Excel knowledge Required.
  • 5 – 7 years experience in sales and business analysis.
  • Strategic thinker and problem solver.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and effectively influence and partner with business functions.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to interact effectively with Pricing, Operations, Business Analytics, Marketing, Finance, and Commercial teams.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be able to understand and analyze data, synthesizing large volumes of data into meaningful and concise reports and actionable findings.
  • Ability to drive projects and activities to successful conclusions.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and respond to requests in timely manner.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced business environment.
  • Cognos and Salesforce experience preferred.
  • PowerPoint knowledge preferred.
  • Power BI knowledge preferred.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a discipline requiring extensive analytical skills.
  • 5-7 years experience in Life Sciences preferred.
