Reporting to: District Manager Genetic Analysis
The role of Genetic Analysis Sales Representative is to drive the sequencing and real-time PCR business including both instruments and consumables. The territory at stake includes Strassbourg, Reims, Dijon and Besançon as main cities.
The role holder will use their knowledge of the business and external context to commit to and deliver profitable initiatives that build sales.
The role holder will also be responsible for implementing sales strategy and tactics for related product lines and applications to achieve sales figures in line with the company’s strategy and growth initiatives.
The senior sales rep takes responsibility within the team to share best practices and help develop and coach more junior team members.
The senior sales rep has extensive and relevant sales experiences and a proven track record of sales achievements.

The territory at stake includes Strassbourg, Reims, Dijon and Besançon as main cities.

The role of Genetic Analysis Sales Representative is to drive the sequencing and real-time PCR business including both instruments and consumables. The territory at stake includes Strassbourg, Reims, Dijon and Besançon as main cities.

Major Responsabilities:
- Achieve the agreed sale target.
- Develop Thermofisher Scientific instrument installed base within the sales territory (Next Generation Sequencing, Capillary Electrophoresis and qPCR).
- Drive the growth of the related consumable business
- Hunt for new business and new customers
- Develop a Territory Plan and implement the corresponding action plan in coordination with Sales Manager.
- Work together with local sales colleagues to leverage the scale of the company and secure business in competitive situations.
- Build up reference sites as required.
- Set up and undertake complex negotiations. Benchmark own sales technics against best practice.
- Ensure transfer of knowledge, experience and best sales practice.
- Biweekly accurate Sales forecast. Anticipate pipeline changes and plan to address shortfalls.
Qualifications / Experience
- Academic degree in scientific disciplines, ideally life sciences.
- Preferably 5 years of experience and professional expertise in the sales of lab instrumentation.
- Relevant technical and scientific background.
- A track record of closing high value deals in highly competitive situations.
- Familiar with the use of common sales strategies such as Miller Heimann or SPIN would be a plus.
- Able to develop and implement strategies that drive growth.
- Able to undertake frequent travels (possible need to attend conferences over weekends).
- Strong interpersonal skills facilitating teamwork and fostering collaboration across teams and organizations.
- Ability to establish stretch goals, result driven.
- Self-accountable for personal delivery.
- First class negotiation skills: capability to influence in highly competitive landscape, ability to challenge customers ‘beliefs and properly position the Thermofisher portfolio in line with applications of interest, eager to close deals keeping control of the time lines.
- Ability to challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement.
- Solid organizational skills: ability to prioritize ad manage time effectively.
- Strong communication skills, flexibility and adaptability to work in a cross-functional environment.
- French language is crucial for this role. Good level of English is key. (speaking and writing)
