Senior Sales Team Manager (Bioproduction)
 

Location: Remote based role - candidates can be based anywhere in UK, Ireland or Nordics

The job:

As the Senior Sales Team Manager you will develop a team of Account Managers to grow our Bioproduction business within Northern Europe (UK, Ireland and the Nordics). You will coach your team to identify high growth and high potential opportunities within their specific accounts, whilst managing current base business.

As a sales leader, you will have the ability to sell at all levels within the technical, manufacturing and commercial arenas, with the experience to tailor your sales approach accordingly.

You will be an experienced people manager, capable of cultivating a sales team to perform to the best of their abilities and drive year on year growth.

This is a field-based role covering a large geographic region – extensive travel, including overnights, will be required on a weekly basis. We are happy to consider candidates based anywhere within the UK, Ireland or Nordics.



What will you do?

  • Manage a team of Account Managers to develop key accounts and drive business growth for Thermo Fisher Scientific within the Bioproduction sector
  • Play a central role in managing relationships with key influencers based in the region, some of which may span to other global geographies
  • As you will be joining a highly matrixed organisation, you will commit yourself to developing strong relationships with individuals outside of your direct reporting line who will also be critical to the success of the region
  • Together with your team, build and execute a plan for market development in the region
  • Help your team to maintain and grow business within existing key accounts
  • Drive your team to compete for all existing and new sales opportunities within the territory to meet or exceed targets
  • Lead the process of winning new business
  • Provide accurate forecasting and reporting, as well as competitive information, to senior sales leadership on a regular basis
  • Co-ordinate all issues with key clients between sales, support, customer services, marketing and finance


Who we are looking for: experience, skills & ability:

  • Degree in a Life Science or equivalent experience
  • In-depth knowledge of Pharmaceutical Bioprocessing and Manufacturing
  • Extensive sales and business development experience gained within the Biopharma sector
  • Account Management experience within a targeted sales environment
  • Previous sales team management experience
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to work in line with the goals of a commercial organisation; demonstrable track record of measuring performance towards these goals
  • A sales mindset, able to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Self-motivated and well organized individual with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience of using a CRM system such as Salesforce.com
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the region (including frequent overnights)
  • Fluent in English, Nordic languages a plus
  • Driving licence
