Integral to the ongoing success of Amgen’s comprehensive biomarker programs, the In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) Group is responsible for the transition of exploratory biomarkers to marketed IVDs, working with other functions within Amgen to identify the appropriate partner for diagnostic test development.

In this vital role you will use a wide breadth of communication expertise across a broad range of partners, influencing decision-making through negotiation and addressing areas of improvement by building productive working relationships across functional areas both within and outside the company. You will lead cross-functional teams to efficiently implement these diagnostic development partnerships through multiple jurisdictions and throughout the test’s life cycle as a companion to Amgen’s therapeutic.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree & 2 years of scientific experience

OR

Master’s degree & 5 years of scientific experience

OR

Bachelor’s degree & 7 years of scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Immunology or Genomics
  • 5+ years in the biopharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in development strategy and validation requirements of regulated diagnostic test systems as well as demonstrated expertise in technical preparation of regulatory submissions of in vitro diagnostic devices
  • Experience in companion diagnostics development strategy
  • Technical knowledge of currently available major categories of diagnostic tests, platforms and manufacturers
  • General knowledge of clinical laboratory testing scenarios and limitations
  • Understanding of clinical study design and operational considerations associated with the alignment of companion diagnostic and pharmaceutical clinical trials
