Job Description
Use your semantic modeling, taxonomy tech, and development experience to help build the next generation of intelligent content CMS.
Our next generation of intelligent content management tools uses taxonomy, semantic modelling, and graph data to drive content discoverability and user insights. We need an experienced developer and knowledge modeller to join our team.
You may be:
- An experienced semantic technology practitioner who is looking to move into commercial software development.
- A software developer with a keen interest and some experience with graph data and taxonomy/ontology tooling who wants to take this area further.
SDL Tridion Docs provides the services and software which empower global organizations to single-source content, share, reuse and personalize content in various output formats and in multiple languages across global markets. Through efficiency gains, SDL’s customers are able to speed up the time of information going to global markets, drive down the cost of content development and translation, provide more agility for the overall business, and increase customer satisfaction through access to better information.
This role will play a key part in our future product development. It involves data modelling and coding, but also co-ordination with various development teams and product management to ensure that the growing semantic technology capabilities can serve the entire product line.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing semantic tooling and integrations with other components
- Mentoring others to work effectively with graph data and standards-based taxonomies
- Contributing to architecture discussions
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders around the organization on technology potential, capabilities, and limitations
- Product-oriented thinking: business value of overall product offering
For this role, you need to have:
- 5+ years software development or architecture experience
- Graph-based data modeling experience, for example using RDF(S) or OWL
- Experience with a graph query language such as SPARQL
- Experience of working with taxonomies (although you do not need to have been an active contributor to the taxonomy yourself)
- Java or .NET skills
- Some natural language processing experience, for example working with entity recognition or concept extraction / topic modeling
- Some knowledge of SKOS
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively
- Good verbal and written English skills
- Some experience with content management, publishing, or XML-based documents
It will help if you have:
Some experience with machine learning
Some knowledge of an enterprise Web CMS such as SDL Tridion Sites
Some knowledge of DITA XML
Agile/Scrum experience in a medium to large organization
