Responsibilities

The Azure Stack team is seeking Service Engineers responsible for critical problem response, mitigation, and resolution. The successful candidates will be performing white-glove deployments around the globe; providing systems architecture guidance for integrating Azure Stack into datacenter environments; leading problem response to isolate and solve functional, performance, reliability, and security issues; influencing and contributing to improvements in diagnostics capabilities and related tooling. Participating in feature design and architecture reviews of new Azure Stack capabilities to ensure that lessons learned in problem response incidents are applied across engineering and partner teams to drive up availability, reliability, diagnosability, performance and security of the platform.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

BS degree in Computer Science, related technical discipline or equivalent experience
5+ years of hands-on experience with designing or operating large-scale cloud service

5+ years of programming experience with PowerShell, Python, C#, et

Experience administering Windows Server (2012+) Hyper-V, storage, networking, and security capabilities

Preferred Qualifications:

A systematic mind with strong troubleshooting skills across network, storage, compute and distributed services layers

Experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and DevOPS practices

Ability to influence and drive results across multiple teams and divisions

Ability to maintain composure during mission critical events and can lead others in a structured and thoughtful response to restore service, maintain SLAs, and feed experience into tangible improvements

Flexible communication skills that can provide clarity to varied audiences that include customers, peers and, at times, executive leadership

Excitement to roll-up sleeves and jump in on technical investigations, customer engagements, and project deliverables

Security Clearance Requirements: Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
• Candidates must have an active TS and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with full scope polygraph) or have an active TS/SCI and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with full scope polygraph). This role will require candidates to maintain the TS/SCI (with full scope polygraph) clearance.
• Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of US Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements.
