Working in partnership with the NSW Government, the Parklife Metro consortium is working on an exciting new metro rail infrastructure project in Greater Western Sydney. Comprising, Plenary, RATP Dev, Siemens and Webuild, the private sector partners are looking to build their metro rail expertise to deliver this city-shaping project, which will be delivered under a Public Private Partnership model and will provide a major economic stimulus for Western Sydney. Siemens as a D&C Contractor member will be responsible for the successful delivery of the design and construction elements of the project, and we are currently looking to hire Senior Signalling System Engineer (CBI) to work within Siemens Mobility team, based in our Sydney office. Create a better tomorrow with us. The Senior System Engineer (CBI) is an expert in rail signalling systems and engineering. They design and check or for larger projects lead the design and checking of all aspects of vital and non-vital railway signalling systems in accordance with the requirements and specifications of the client railways. Reporting into the Lead System Engineer (CBI), your key responsibilities will include: Carry out, or lead the analysis of the signalling requirements, definition of system philosophies/architecture/interfaces to fulfill customer requirements, preparation of the technical offer documentation, coordination of the subsystems and technical customer negotiations. Ensure quality, completeness and consistency of the relevant work results. Analysis and evaluation of all signalling related customer requirements based on the project requirement configuration management system. Support installation, integration, testing and commissioning, validation and approval and other related activities as necessary Analyses and supervises the fulfillment of their work package with regards to functional, technical and time-related goals, also checks the quality of process and results. Develop methods of resolution independently in case of problems with interface partners and puts them into practice (in coordination with the WPM). What you need to make real what matters You are expected to be an engineering functional expert your discipline to provide measurable contributions in a team environment as directed by the Work Package Manager in a project and Team Lead/Engineering Manager at functional level. You are expert in Railway Systems, Railway Operations and Signalling with proven experience in a variety of Signalling Projects Strong understanding of project delivery requirements Tertiary education in a relevant engineering discipline such as design engineering, electronics engineering, industrial design, mechanical engineering and product design engineering.
