The Azure IoT Connected Car team is leading that charge and we are looking for engineers to join us and imagine new uses and opportunities that are unlocked by connecting automobiles to the cloud and harvesting the data produced in everyday operation of vehicles. The ubiquitous connectivity of vehicles is enabling new scenarios where it is routine to process petabytes of data and use advanced analytics like machine learning to gain new insights for manufacturers, fleet managers and individual consumers. With Azure IoT, Microsoft is leading the industry in IoT and we are building on that leadership to drive a new generation of “things that move”.  We will utilize and build on Azure’s IoT base of comprehensive solutions spanning devices, device management, gateways, advanced analytics, and command & control functionality. The Azure IoT Connected Car team is looking for highly motivated and talented engineers to design and deliver reference platforms and solutions that enable rapid adoption of Azure based services. Candidates will be responsible for envisioning, designing and implementing a platform that can be easily customized by automakers to fulfill their connected car services. This ranges from sample mobile apps, APIs, productivity tools, and analytics pipelines to drive dashboards for dealers, service centers and other automotive stake holders. All of these must be built with focus on the absolute best practices we want to promote when using Azure services.

 

We are looking for engineers with strong problem solving, design, coding and debugging skills coupled with a drive for execution and results.  You must have a desire to produce high quality software and services with a focus on livesite and running large services at scale. Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Building scalable data pipelines for big data analytics
  • Migrating our reference platform to a complete service solutions (PAS)
  • Build and maintain a fleet management system to showcase the Microsoft Connected Vehicle Platform
  • Integrate and show case the best Azure has to offer in data analytics and machine learning
  • Continually find ways to lower the COGs and maintenance of our systems so that we can pass those savings to our customers or improve our margins.

Qualifications

Successful candidates must have the following:

  • Minimum of 7 years of technical engineering experience.
  • Exposure to service engineering including experience with distributed systems and livesite operations of online services.
  • Experience with large scale data processing systems
  • Demonstrated experience building highly reliable and scalable systems software.
  • Education: BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.

 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
