Eaton’s Electrical Sector, Critical Power & Digital Infrastructure (CPDI) division is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Raleigh, NC facility with partial remote flexibility. Position Overview: Eaton's Critical Power & Digital Infrastructure Division in Raleigh, NC is looking for a for a Senior Software Engineer to lead the software development efforts of our Electrical Vehicle Charging products. This position is responsible for software design, implementation, and validation of embedded software for electircal vehicle charging controls and monitoring systems. In this function you will: Determine software architecture and implementation feasibility to meet product requirements. Document and demonstrate solutions developing documentation, flowcharts, diagrams, code comments, technical bulletins. Improve product design by conducting systems analysis; design reviews, coding, test, support, enhancements, and analysis of marketing and sales software requirements. Update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, participating in educational opportunities and offers training to other team members. Perform and supervise development testing. Work with Lab Technicians to develop test plans and perform testing to ensure product requirements are achieved. Support other software engineers by providing advice, coaching, and scheduling Conduct failure analysis and develop solutions to product issues. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution required 3 years of relevant experience required Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future Preferred qualifications: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution Experience developing embedded control algorithms and software for charger control electronics, and systems applications. Experience in developing application code on a variety of processor platforms including TI DSPs or ARM core microcontrollers or equivalent. Demonstrated knowledge in signal processing and control techniques. Versed in SCADA and remote monitoring. Experience leading and executing product development programs. Ability to apply simulation tools including PLECS and MATLAB-SIMULINK. Experience developing C and C++ embedded applications. Well versed with cross compiling, interface, and web development Experience in defining software architecture and coaching other software engineers Position Criteria: Excellent analytical, problem solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills Knowledge of regulatory requirements. Familiarity with ProLaunch and Jira. Model based design practices Experience with Linux shell scripting, Linux kernel programming and porting and system integration.
