Job Description

Azure Cloud Service Infrastructure's FPGA Platform team is responsible for delivering the baseline functional blocks for the FPGA accelerators used across Microsoft. We are seeking engineers to help our team build and scale automation systems to support engineering efforts across multiple teams. We are leveraging Azure and VSTS platforms to build reliable and repeatable delivery pipelines in both Windows and Linux environments. As such, this role offers a wide variety of challenges and incredible learning opportunities across multiple Cloud services within Microsoft.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Define, build, test, and maintain telemetry to monitor and predict the health of the FPGA and surrounding components for development, validation, and deployment
  • Integrate FPGA acceleration and offload engines into existing software stacks
  • Performance analysis of applications and algorithms
  • Develop tooling to reduce the effort of FPGA development and debug including build systems, test systems, and higher-level development tooling
  • Develop tests for FPGA systems
  • Provide support for setup and servicing environment services

Basic Qualifications

  • A solid computer engineering background (MS in computer engineering or equivalent degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of software development experience for new hardware platforms
  • Software development experience in all stages of a release cycle (design, implement, test, deploy) with ability to cover multiple job roles.
  • Significant professional experience with systems languages (Assembly, C/C++).
  • Professional experience with some of C#, Powershell, Javascript, Python, TCL.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Solid debugging, testing, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Server and Networking hardware experience
  • FPGA development or test experience
  • EDA Tool experience
  • Kernel development experience
  • Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, Visual Studio Team Services (VSO), DotNet, ASP
  • Windows Server and Linux automation
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Deployment (CI) Workflows and Systems and Agile Practices
