Job Description

Principal Job Responsibilities:

 

Design innovative solutions to platform level problems.  Interact with engineers across the global organization to obtain platform level requirements.  Develop and execute software test plans.  Perform integration of software on targeted hardware platforms.  Architect software components to meet stated requirements.  Implement software components.  Provide end-user support for software components and products.  Perform component level software test.  Document implemented software.

 

Qualifications

 

Either a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign educational equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or closely related discipline plus three years of industry, academic, and/or research experience (gained at any time) in one of the following: Desktop, Back-end, Networking, Embedded systems, or Cloud; OR, alternatively, a Master’s degree (or foreign educational equivalent) in any of the disciplines above, plus two years of industry, academic, and/or research experience (gained at any time) in one of the areas as listed above.  Regardless of degree level above, must have at least one year of (included) experience in each of the following:  contributing to creation of innovative solutions to block level problems; contributing to development and execution of software test plans; contributing to implementation of software components; performing integration of software on targeted hardware platforms; performing low-level debugging using JTAG or similar hardware debug tool; participating in design of software components to meet stated requirements; providing support for software components and products; and interacting with department members to gain understanding of technical context.  Must have had exposure to verification of projects, including development of complex environments, test plans, test coverage analysis.  Must have experience using version control, bug tracking and issue reporting.  Must have solid oral, written, and presentation communication skills to efficiently communicate across a global organization where success is highly dependent on collaboration and effective communication.
