Find out more about the Digital world of Siemens here: www.siemens.com/careers/digitalminds Senior Solution Manager Position Overview Technology and Innovation team at Siemens Digital Industries Software (DI SW) focuses on mapping emerging technology trends to future customer needs; with keen balance of commercial success and maturity of emerging technology. Solution Managers are responsible for understanding macro-trends in digitalization of customer’s design, engineering and manufacturing processes and deriving high level requirements for new solutions based on new technologies. Evaluate existing road-maps from product segments and map new solution requirements for future enhancements. Drive development of solution through Agile and SAFe practices. Define commercial aspects of the new solution offering. Candidate must have in-depth knowledge about products from at least one portfolio suite of DI SW. Must have solid grasp of trade-offs between infrastructure choices at public cloud versus customer private data center. Must understand new techno-commercial aspects for areas like Analytics driven by big-data architectures, Cloud based SaaS products and Digital Twin technologies. Responsibilities · Drive development across product groups for new or enhanced software offering(s). · Define deployment pattern(s) of solutions as combination of on-prem, cloud private tenant and cloud shared tenancy. · Partner with sales and marketing to articulate differentiating value of DI SW at overall portfolio level. · Identify drivers of competitive differentiation to define value messages and tactics to gain market share against key competition. · Define compute patterns and load distributions based on processor types and economics (e.g. CPU, GPU etc) · Shepherd solution development throughout all stages of development. Provide essential oversight to orchestrate solutions thinking across product lines. · Assist is cost analysis for new offering across R&D and infrastructure spend. · Assist in pricing and licensing of new offerings, evaluation of 3rd party offerings. Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience · Masters or Ph D in science, technology, engineering and math field from reputed university. · 15+ years of progressive experience in large software company that develops and sells commercial software addressed for product development users. · 8+ years of experience working hands-on for software development or configuration or customization of enterprise platforms. Through understanding of how API are defined, isolate layers of architecture. · Must understand technical aspects of digital twin - difference between machine learning technics to investigate behavior vs. physics-based simulation to capture as designed behavior. · Must understand different nature of product design challenges and work flows across engineering disciplines and engineering phases. · Must have taken a product through development lifecycle – from conception to production launch and early customer adoption. · Structured thinking – macro-trends to product implications to recommended actions. Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience · Understanding of key target industries for DI SW market. · Good understanding of data persistence technologies and price vs. performance trade-off e.g. across RDBMS, NoSQL, Object storage, graph databases. · Demonstrated advanced technical project execution e.g. Digital Twin product deployments. · MBA from top tier university. · Presentation to deep technical audiences, publication in scientific journals. *Qualified Applicants will not require employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in the United States.
