ROLE DESCRIPTION:

• Level 3 experience in relevant technology
• Backup & Recovery administration – in required technology
• Should have hands on experience on Commvault, Veritas NetBackup (backup application) Certification will be added advantageous with Advanced level is a must. Commvault Version 11 and above.
• Perform Test Restoration every month.
• Driver team to Monitor backups on daily basis & Patching backup software and install/configure backups.
• Support and Administer enterprise CommVault environment(s).
• Deploy and configure Commserve, Media Agent and Client.
• Perform Commserve DB Maintenance and disaster recovery operations as and when needed.
• Deploy, configure and administer data protection for File System and Enterprise Applications (Oracle, SAP for Oracle, Virtual Server, IBM DB2 , Citrix Xen Server , Microsoft Exchange , SQL server , SharePoint ) residing on servers / clients.
• Prepare & Design Backup solution for new site & plan capacity requirement.
• Storage Policy / Schedule Policy / Report creation and administration as per requirement.
• Perform CommVault user administration as per policies
• Perform Media Management activities (end to end)
• Troubleshooting backup / recovery issues by analysing logs.
• Coordinate with software and hardware vendors to troubleshoot and solve backup issues.
• Good knowledge on Windows Server 2003 / 2008 / 2012 & Unix OS
• Good knowledge on LAN, SAN, Switches
• Preferred skills around Windows, Linux, AIX, Solaris OS, DB/2, Oracle, Exchange, and SQL
• Understanding of basic infrastructure and network connectivity
• Participate with Project Management on new projects (i.e. Technology Refresh, Capacity, Dedicated Environments).
• Work with other teams in coordinating technology refreshes across data centers with a continued vigilance to ensure minimal disruption to our customer
• Ability to work independently as well as ability to collaborate across teams in support of complex global engagements.
• Ability to collaborate with peers and across teams
• Highly skilled in verbal and written communication and comfortable interacting with people at all levels of customer organizations
• Ability to follow standards and practices
• Willing to work on 24/7 

MANDATORY SKILLS:

Education, Qualifications and Experience

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree or recognized equivalent or achievement of recognized professional level.
• Overall 9-13 Years of Relevant work experience.
• High level troubleshooting skills in Backup
• Basic Knowledge on all platform services and good hands on knowledge.

Desirable

• Master’s degree.
• Backup Infrastructure design & Architecture knowledge
• Backup Infrastructure recommendation skills
• High level programming knowledge on Python.

• Backup Tool : Commvault, NetBackup, HPDP.
• Storage - NetApp Storage.
• Working effectively and cross functionally across the organization; earning trust and building relationships throughout
• Outstanding communication skills; presentation, written, verbal, listening, and influencing, including being sensitive to professional ethics
• Strong team player with the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage internal and external responsibilities simultaneously

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Work in 24x7 environment with rotating shifts across APAC, EMEA, AMER regions and Week End shifts.
• ITIL v3 Foundation certified.
• Certified in any one of Backup technology is a must
