AstraZeneca is looking for a Manager to lead a team of highly skilled storage professionals. This team oversees all on premise disk storage system activities which includes SAN & NAS across AZ.
As a people manager, establish goals and enable team to achieve it. Must manage the functioning and productivity of the team. Identify and value the unique abilities of each staff and capitalize on it. Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to staff throughout the year.
Should be self-motivated and have strong interpersonal and communication skills to motivate and lead the team.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
- Accountable for management of the Storage Operations Team.
- Accountable for the results of the team while handling operational issues and delivering on assigned projects.
- Set clear goals, define objectives and evaluate outcomes.
- Create work environment in which staff are enabled to perform to the best of their abilities.
- Performance management - holds self and team accountable to clearly achieve results through ongoing coaching and feedback aligned with business objectives while creating a culture of superior performance.
- Ensure unbiased administration of the performance management program.
- Come up with initiatives on your own that supports the team/organization.
- Develops, coordinates, and enforces systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
- Maintains quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards, analyzing and resolving quality and customer service problems, and recommending system improvements.
- Actively engage in stretch assignments.
- Proactive in providing direction to the team to identify and eliminate risk.
- Bring value addition to end users/customers.
- Follow and imbibe LEAN, Agile ways of working in the team.
- Be a team builder and collaborate internally and external to the team.
- Coach team members.
- Live the Values and principles of our Code of Ethics – every day and ensure the team follows it as well.
- Liaise with internal and relevant external authorities to ensure that we are moving towards an approved compliant infrastructure.
- Responsible for determining and fulfilling the needs of the team for employee development and training.
Essential Skills and experience
- Bachelor or master’s degree or equivalent.
- 10-12 years of technical expertise in infrastructure operations.
- ITIL Certification.
- Being accountable for actions done by self and team in operations and project.
- Identify and develop talent.
- Inspire and motivate team members.
- Collaborate and promote teamwork internally and externally.
- Open to feedback with a willingness to ask for and act on feedback from higher ups/peers/team members.
- Communicating well orally and written. Should have an ability to present ideas to others/teams in an interesting and engaging manner.
- Good Interpersonal skills.
- Display high integrity and honesty. Lead by example.
- Decision making.
- Delegate work as needed after assessing the work opportunities.
- Set clear expectations and timelines for delivery to team.
- Handle pressure effectively.
Desirable Skills and experience
3-5 years (inclusive of total experience) in people management.
