As a Staff Scientist you will be responsible for: Play a leading role in several assay development projects using electrochemical-based sensor technologies for measurement of analytes in blood in a point of care setting. Utilizing your specialized electrochemistry chemistry knowledge, data analytics expertise, and industry assay development experience to innovate for assay performance, and manufacturability. Integrating assays with hardware and software using instrument prototypes. Readying the assays for Verification and Validating testing through the development and optimization of sensor algorithms. Leading troubleshooting of complex scientific investigations and finding innovative solutions that keep Siemens’ new product development projects competitive with other industry players, on time, and on budget. Providing technical leadership and coaching to junior scientists, through demonstrating scientific rigor and critical thinking. Delivering regular written and oral project updates to R&D colleagues and program stakeholders, and completing deliverables to support the product development process. This position may suit you best if you are proficient with the below skills and would like to develop your career with Healthineers: Experience and knowledge of electrochemical potentiometric and amperometric sensors is required. Assay development experience in an R&D industry setting is required. Experience in algorithm development and statistical methods is desirable. Technical leadership skills in an R&D setting. Self-motivated, passionate about science, and significant project experience showing an ability to influence others. Ability in critical-thinking and in systems-level thinking. Proven problem-solving ability through the use of DOE, 5Whys, Ishikawa, Kepner-Tregoe techniques etc. Innovation-oriented and constantly seeking ways to improve processes and efficiencies. A team mindset and excellence in open, transparent communication, and good presentation skills. Skills required for success in this role: PhD in a chemistry-related discipline and 7+ years R&D experience in a medical device or related industry, or a Masters degree and 10+ years experience. Expert in Microsoft Excel, Minitab, and other data analysis applications. Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
