Job Description
On behalf of our client, a multinational enterprise advancing its interests in polar domains, we are seeking an experienced strategic advisor. This part-time consulting role offers genuine flexibility to provide high-level guidance remotely, directly influencing business decisions in a rapidly evolving sector.
The Role
We require a seasoned expert to advise on Arctic and Antarctic affairs, including resource governance, environmental policy, geopolitical developments, scientific research trends, or indigenous stakeholder relations. Operating as a remote consultant, you will deliver timely, practical insights that support the client’s market entry, risk management, and partnership strategies. This is a substantive advisory position for those who prefer intellectual impact over institutional formality.
Key Responsibilities
• Advise senior leadership on polar region developments, translating technical and policy complexities into clear business recommendations
• Support due diligence and stakeholder mapping for projects across Arctic states and Antarctic Treaty jurisdictions
• Prepare confidential briefings on regulatory shifts, emerging technologies, and multilateral negotiations
• Participate selectively in expert forums or stakeholder dialogues on the client’s behalf when appropriate
Candidate Background
You are an established authority in polar affairs through one of the following paths:
• Tenured academic or senior research leadership with applied policy experience
• Principal analyst or program director at a reputable polar or geopolitical institute
• Former senior official from a relevant government ministry, polar agency, or international body
• Executive-level experience with an influential polar-focused NGO or indigenous organization
You bring demonstrated expertise, a strong international network, and the capacity to connect specialized knowledge with commercial realities.
Compensation & Terms
The consultancy package is competitive and adaptable to your preferences, structured as a retainer or project-based fees. We provide:
• Market-aligned compensation reflecting your experience and time commitment
• Annual travel provision for 1–2 strategic meetings at international locations selected for convenience and relevance
• Flexible payment arrangements tailored to your jurisdiction and requirements
• Full administrative and logistical support, ensuring seamless engagement
