Senior Strategic Buyer / Senior Category Manager (m/w/d) – Engineering & Construction – DACH

Our Northern European Procurement Team is looking for an experienced Senior Strategic Buyer / Category Manager (m/f/d), who will be responsible for procurement and management of several technical categories with local, international and global suppliers. Your main focus will be on all goods and services, related to construction, refurbishment, maintenance, furniture & technical distribution of our hotels in Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH).

What Are Your Tasks:

• You will be responsible for all local procurement for your categories
• You will take the Lead on international tenders and bidding processes and will support the local identification and implementation of best practices, synergies and more
• In addition, you will be responsible for the P&L for your categories
• You will take on the further development of the procurement strategy for your category (including supplier panels, market share targets and management of the product & services portfolio)
• Together with the Team you will work on defining our strategy for complex and/or multinational needs and projects in Northern Europe, spanning multiple categories
• You will manage the entire selection and decision making process on suppliers, assess supplier’s quotations, and negotiate contracts, prices and T&Cs
• You are responsible for the source-to-contract-process for your categories, including all RFI-/RFP-/RFQ-processes
• You will define KPIs, SLAs and other indicators for your suppliers and monitor their performance
• Finally, you will monitor pricing and bids and ensure compliance with negotiated contracts

Your Experience and Skills include:

• You have at least 5 years of relevant experience with focus on procurement / category management
• You have experience in managing CAPEX in hospitality, or in engineering / construction / or maintenance
• You have excellent project management skills
• Long-term and strategic thinking are amongst your core strengths
• You are a strong communicator, with experience in working with various stakeholders across all areas and levels of the business
• You have proven negotiation skills
• You are fluent in English and German
