Senior Strategic Designer

London

BCGDV is working on a new digital offering that is part of a medtech healthcare company’s digital innovation business unit. This business unit will focus on creating new digital products and platforms that transform the lives of patients. This venture will be the first product within the digital innovation unit. This product will be a next generation digital platform aimed at a neurological disorder to empower patients to better understand their condition, have better conversations with their doctor and ultimately achieve better health outcomes. The new venture has plans to grow aggressively to engage patient and health care professionals, with an initial focus in the US market. The business will scale aggressively in the next few years, and will be based in London, England, with international travel, up to a third travel to the US.

We are looking for a Senior Strategic Designer to be part of the team.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct quantitative research investigations that help strategically frame, validate or challenge other forms of research
  • Develop ethnographic research and contextual design investigations to understand customer behaviours, pain points, needs and aspirations
  • Contribute to deep trend analysis and research of interesting exemplars in the marketplace
  • Identify insights from customer research and market analysis
  • Bring your research to life through personas, customer journeys, insight-opportunity frameworks, system maps, stories and scenarios
  • Using design thinking techniques for the conceptual development of products, services and/or physical connected form-factors
  • Communicate design ideas using techniques, including product concepts, service models, customer journeys, industrial designs, system maps and/or infographics
  • Iteratively design, test and refine disruptive products and services
  • Observe and engage audiences within the markets of interest to test commercialisation assumptions for audience capture and scaling

Background

  • Several years prior experience in Strategic Design - through HCI, research, industrial design or consumer psychology
  • Bachelor’s degree in design, business, psychology, strategy, marketing or another relevant field
  • An outstanding portfolio of work demonstrating strong human-centered design capabilities across a diverse range of projects
  • Experience with ethnographic research (quantitative and qualitative), divergent exploration, conceptual development and industrial design
  • A background with product prototyping and testing, future visioning and strategy development
  • Experience working alongside design teams to create new product and service concepts is a must.
  • Healthcare or consumer experience a plus
