The Office of the CTO/Software and Advanced Technology Group (OCTO-SATG) at Intel defines, develops, and leads the implementation of new strategic technologies to fuel the industry-shaping disruptions. The Architecture, Strategy and Planning (ASP) organization in SATG plays a fundamental role in closely partnering with technology and business leaders across Intel to define the future direction and drive cross company and industry technology initiatives. The Client and Graphics Software Planning (CGSP) team within ASP drives and delivers platform software plans for Intel's premier client platforms and SATG software plans for Intel's discrete graphics products.

The Senior Strategic Planner is a role within ASP/CGSP, with significant cross-Intel impact and visibility. The strategic planner will be responsible for developing and driving platform software plans across the software stack to unlock value for Intel's premier products per the Intel product lifecycle process.

The strategic planner will:

  • Develop the comprehensive SW plans for platforms, spanning simulation, BIOS, operating systems, VMMs, other system software, developer tools, applications and ecosystem enabling.

  • Own and drive software planning and pre-enabling plans from technology/IP inception through to product execution start (Execution Commit).

  • Develop and drive pathfinding/tech-readiness plans for software visible technologies working with technical leaders.

  • Represent software in planning meetings.

  • Work with and establish trust across a diverse array of stakeholders across SATG, Business Units and silicon engineering teams.

  • The position requires a solid combination of technical expertise and business acumen, willing to work effectively across functional and organizational boundaries and the willingness to communicate effectively across technical, engineering and management audiences.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum qualifications and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The Senior Strategic Planner needs to be, and be perceived across multiple organizations as a driven, and results oriented individual, with a One Intel and collaborative mindset.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters with 5 + years experience or Bachelor's with 7+ years experience.

  • 3+ years experience in strategic planning or similar functions.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters or Bachelor's in computer science or a related technical field an added plus.

  • 8-10 years of experience with 5+ years' experience in strategic planning or similar functions.

  • Experience presenting to technical, planning and management level audiences.

  • Knowledge of client, IoT and graphics products.

  • Highly Technically savvy and willing to understand a broad spectrum of software, HW, operating systems, hardware technologies, architecture details, and be comfortable driving discussions with senior technologists engaging on new architecture development.

  • Prior experience creating or close dealing with Intel roadmaps.

  • Effective program management skills to collaborate with and lead very large groups of stakeholders across a diverse range of projects.

  • Proven willingness to drive project scoping and sizing with engineering management, senior technologists.

  • Deep familiarity with one or more of the following: client platforms, IoT products, discrete GPU products and/or discrete graphics/GPU software, and/or data parallel computational products.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado:
$130,190.00-$221,610.00

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
