BASIC PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

This position is responsible for providing the strategic sourcing supports; superior execution for the sourcing strategies defined by Sourcing Director/Senior Manager/Manager. Handling the sourcing/quotation requests from BU/RMO/ Sourcing Director/Senior Manager/Manager, provide the pros. and cons analysis, supplier selection recommendations, update and maintain the sourcing database, ERP system and provide the market intelligence to the Sourcing Director/Senior Manager/Manager to optimize the sourcing strategy, plan and decision.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Handle the project sourcing and request for quotation. Maintain RFQ/RFP tracker for BU. Justify all quotes by using cost drivers, pros & cons analysis and cost analysis form
• Identify potential suppliers via trade show, & new supplier sourcing. Prepare trip report with key findings and recommendations
• Maintain and update "Yellow page" for new and potential suppliers. Benchmark new suppliers with current suppliers on competitiveness and competencies.
• Handle the sourcing projects and activities for the assigned categories/product lines/components/raw materials
• Regularly update sourcing project progress (e.g. saving, spend, supplier count) by using Oracle/OBIA/other tools
• Review of supplier performance and recommends to management with specific action plan.
• New products proposal to GCO/RMO with alignment on Category Strategy from Sourcing Director/Senior Manager/Manager.
• Follow up the sample status from receiving sample to sample approval and maintain an effective communication and close-loop feedback between sourcing requestors and suppliers.
• Prepare sourcing/market intelligence report/summary and review with the Sourcing Director/Senior Manager/Manager on regular basis
• Upgrade and drive the continuous enhancement for the sourcing/yellow page database (Senior)
• Coordinates global changes to product specifications and works with suppliers on implementation and cut off dates (Senior)
• Works with suppliers on materials forecasting, components purchases, open book quotation policies, and works with suppliers on lead time improvements and minimum order quantity (MOQ) reduction (Senior)

Education, Qualification and training

• Bachelor’s degree in business management, supply chain/purchasing management, engineering or related field is required

Experience or skills required

• At least 8 years of Sourcing experience on outdoor products, familiar with metal, plastic materials with MNC exposure
• Understanding of suppliers assessment
• Strong communication ability.
• Strong analytical skill, process and system improvement knowledge
• Able to multi task and work independently, team work spirit.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Oracle.
• Frequent travelling is requested
• Fluent in both written and spoken English, Chinese
