ROLE AND REPONSIBILITIES
Strategy & Business Development team works closely with Global Markets (GM) management to develop the long-term strategy of GM and the Global Business Lines/Regions. The team is also responsible for competitive benchmarking and intelligence and for managing the business development portfolio. In particular, any acquisition, large scale transaction or partnership project are jointly driven by the team together with the relevant business. The team is located in London, Paris, Hong-Kong, New York and soon Lisbon.
The selected candidate will be based in Lisbon after a few months of training and will provide a full support on various projects and initiatives to the central Strategy and Business Development teams based in London and Paris.
Please find below the key responsibilities of the team as a whole:
Support the strategic planning process for Global Markets globally and proactively challenge the strategy
Manage the competitive benchmarking process for Global Markets
Stay abreast of competitive and regulatory trends and distil implications for the business
Define, structure and standup projects of strategic relevance to the business
Manage relevant business development topics (acquisitions, JVs, divestments, etc.)
Support Global Markets management with significant milestones (e.g. Strategic presentations, town halls, etc)
Become a trusted adviser to GBL and Transversal Head, thus requiring significant senior interaction.
PROFILE
Graduated from Business School or Engineering School (or equivalent)
Between 6 and 8 years of professional experience in a similar area (Ideally first experience in Strategy and Consulting/advisory)
Considerable experience in Investment Banking, with good knowledge of the Global Markets product set, business models, revenue and costs drivers, competitive environment and industry trends
Intellectual horsepower (and genuine interest in IB) so as to make a major strategic contribution to the future of BNP Paribas’ IB business

Comfortable in dealing with senior representative of the management team
Exceptional communication (oral and writing)
Autonomous, delivers high quality work, rigorous and synthetic
Able to work in a changing environment
Acts with discipline and high ethical standards
