Senior Supervisor, Banquet

What you will be doing:
- Overseeing all Banquet operations AM/ P.M/closing shift including Food & Beverage service
- Achieve Guest Satisfaction by establishing positive guest contact with the client in charge of each assigned function ensuring all function contract details are met
- Analyze daily and monthly reports to ascertain that labour/productivity costs are in line with Outlook forecasts
- Coordinating successful completion for off-site functions
- Preparation and completion of daily Banquet event guest billing and critique of each function
- Conduct pre-function meetings with Colleagues for all Food & Beverage functions to brief on menu and service procedures
- Effectively maintain Beverage controls through accurate recording, tracking, distribution and billing of liquor consumption
- Ensure all Beverage cashiering and check control procedures are followed
- Organize and ensure that all colleagues receive appropriate rest and meal breaks
- Establish maintenance, repair and cleaning schedules for all Banquet equipment and facilities
- Cash, Credit and deposit procedures and transactions are accurate ensuring guest satisfaction
- Maintain key relations with other Food & Beverage departments including Kitchen, Stewarding, Catering & Outlets
- Adhere and enforce all hotel Health & Safety programs, Fire Procedures, Safety regulations and responsibilities
- Ensure that Bartenders have adequate beverage to service the function
- Ensure open, effective communication between colleagues and leaders with a clear understanding of the “Collective Agreement”.
- Able to drive cube van, 1 Ton and 5 Ton truck for Off-site Events
- Overseeing all Banquet Porters Setup AM/PM/closing shift.
- When required guide porters with setup/ Suggest Sales team with set up
- Proper knowledge of Room Set up, measurement of area including Dance floor and stage.
- Should be able to help porter for any last minute Physical changes of the room set up
- Should be able to perform occasional Physically demanding duties inside hotel and outdoors encompassing Standing, walking, bending and lifting up to 50lbs
Your experience and skills include:
- Minimum 3 years of Banquet Supervisory experience in a high volume establishmentPost Secondary education in Hospitality and Tourism
- Working knowledge of Infogenesis, Microsoft Office and Email
- Familiar with various styles of service including French, Military and Family
- Thorough knowledge of Wine, Liquor and Beer
- Clear understanding of Inventory Control
- Previous experience in a Unionized environment an asset
- Must be able to work evening/closing shifts
- Able to work late hours in a unsupervised environment
