Eaton’s Vehicle Group is currently seeking a Senior Supply Chain Buyer/Planner to join our team at the Athens, GA location. The primary responsibility of this position is to receive, evaluate, and process customer information (MRP and other) to plan, procure, allocate and distribute materials for assigned product categories to ensure total customer satisfaction at the lowest possible cost, while maintaining acceptable inventory levels. Plans, develops, and manages the administration of procurement activities for materials. Process and maintains PO’s based upon the quote provided and negotiated pricing in a manner that promotes customer satisfaction and relationship building while supporting achievement of the stated business objectives and High 5 Metrics of the Athens plant. Essential Functions: Timely planning of assigned components to support production by utilizing customer demand information while meeting inventory targets Ensure efficiency of inbound logistics for assigned components while meeting plant objectives / processes for premium freight and total freight Distribute supply information to the Master Scheduler & Materials Manager that is used to create production schedules that meet customer delivery expectations and maximize production flow and output. Maintain accurate inventory records at 95% or better and Evaluate bills of materials to ensure proper inventory relief. Procures materials to support production –process PO requisitions and create all required purchase orders. Ensures debit dollars are correctly documented and debits are taken as required. Negotiates debits with suppliers – if no resolution then escalates to Material Manager. Tracks, updates, and reports cost out projects. Maintain PO and release records in order to dispute incorrect supplier systems’ delivery and debits. Interface with Front Line Leaders, Planners & Master Scheduler to ensure adherence to Production Schedule Undergo required level of cross training for other materials functions as back up: Shipping/ Master Scheduling. MRO Purchasing and supplier management control – on hold invoice follow up and resolution. Provides weekend support on a rotational basis with other Materials personnel. Minimum of 2 years of experience with MRP/MES systems. Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship, on an ongoing basis. All candidates must reside within a 50 mile radius of Athens, GA. Preferred Qualifications: BS or BA degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Materials Management MRP/MES knowledge and experience Computer System proficiency with excel, especially Oracle or PeopleSoft Familiarity of (Automotive) customers and customer requirements velocity In-depth knowledge of plant manufacturing processes and timetables from raw materials to finished product Supply Chain Management/ Logistics experience Knowledge in product scheduling by method, machine, and departments Technical knowledge of forecasting techniques, bill of material structuring, schedule execution, and inventory management APICS Certification preferred Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt a plus.
