Job Description

The Intel NUC Group (NUC-G) is looking for an experienced System Validation Engineer to manage Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) system validation for the Client Computing Group's (CCG) Systems business. NUC Group products include the Intel NUC, Unbranded notebooks and Intel Compute Element product families.
Prior experiences with solid system validation and ODM management are both required.
In this position, you will manage all the system validation aspects of NUC Group products with ODMs and collaborate with a team to develop Intel system validation requirements. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Develop and document a matured validation requirement for each sub system and feature.
2. Review ODM validation plan, coverage and test report and track all the validation deliverables with indicators.
3. Provide advice, oversight and supervision to ODM product validation execution to meet key milestones and product launch schedule, ensuring the product feature requirements and quality meet or exceed customer expectations.
4. Collect ODM validation escapes in NPI and sustaining and drive corrective actions.
5. Test and audit new product features, capabilities, technologies, and innovations on prototypes of boards and systems in Intel labs.
6. Collaborate with internal Intel Client Customer Engineering team to develop new platform validation capabilities, including test automation.
7. Continuously drives improvement in validation methods, tools, UX, cycle time and content optimization.
A successful candidate will demonstrate:
1. Knowledge of PC architecture and various platform and sub system validation methodologies, tools and processes.
2. System level validation and technical knowledge in all sub systems like: TBT, Type-C, PCIe, Memory, Storage, Connectivity, WLAN, LAN, BT, Thermal, Graphics, Multimedia, Power Mgmt, Low Power Optimization etc.
3. Solid understanding of Benchmark and Performance, Compatibility, User Scenario Testing, Stress and Stability, BIOS, Driver, FW, MSFT HLK and Windows Operating System fundamentals, product required Certifications, and Manufacturing Testing.
4. Solid validation management experience with key OEMs, familiar with ODM product development life cycle and phase exit criteria.
5. Experience in creating validation indicators to track ODM validation progress and issues, for presentation to management team.
6. Planning, test case development and implementation ability.
7. The candidate must have strong initiative, self-motivation, analytical skills, and able to multi-task.
8. Good teamwork skills are a must as the candidate will be working with different levels of engineering expertise in various geographies.
9. Excellent problem-solving skills, good written and oral communication skills both in English and Mandarin, and willing to clearly communicate test cases, test results and defects.


Qualifications

This job is reserved for the person who is passionate to always put new technology into practice as quickly as possible, exploring all possible alternatives for a better solution, and pursuing constant improvement on test efficiency and coverage.
A successful candidate will have 6 to 8 years of experience in engineering management of PC systems and demonstrate a working knowledge of PC system validation, qualification, and testing methods.
Will be able to utilize and work with ODM validation resources to optimize and mature product validation.
Proficiency in written and spoken English, Mandarin, strong communication skills and an ability to work in a highly matrixed, cross-functional organization should be demonstrated in past work experiences.
Candidate must possess a Master degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM with 8+ years of experience or a Bachelor with 10+ years of related experience.
